A Productive Partnership Around Attendance

8/03/2016
In 2016 we are continuing to look for new ways to ‘Strive to Excel’ across all of our Prep to Year 6 classrooms. We have recently forged new productive partnerships with local businesses in order to support our attendance message that EVERY DAY COUNTS.
Currently the school takes a five-point approach to addressing school absenteeism, including:
  1. Providing intervention and support;
  2. Developing a positive school culture;
  3. Communicating high expectations of attendance;
  4. Recording and following up student absences;
  5. Monitoring student attendance.
By including “Positive Partnerships” to our attendance strategy Woodridge North SS will now be incentivising students to maintain to a high rate of attendance across terms 1, 2, 3 and 4. In Term 1, the class with the best attendance data will be rewarded with a free session with Wild Miracles.
Wild Miracles is a small business focussing on interactive, educational wildlife demonstrations.  Their focus is to inspire and positively influence attitudes, knowledge and behaviours about the conservation of all species.
We welcome Stacey Daly from Wild Miracles to our Woodridge North SS community and thank her for valuing the importance of every student attending school every day.
